Born and raised in the diverse central valley of Northern California, I'm an American singer-songwriter-pianist-producer based out of the Twin Cities area of Minnesota with a passionate message of reconciliation for those who feel lost and forgotten. My sound is a piano-based melodic rock on the darker side of vintage gospel with a generous dash of soul and my songs explore the human experience through thoughtful lyrics and melancholic refrains.
The Proverbs of King Solomon say that “When you sing a song of joy to someone suffering in the deepest grief and heartache, it can be compared to disrobing in the middle of a blizzard or rubbing salt in a wound", so I don’t always write the cheeriest lyrics. It’s important to me that my songs bring warmth to cold hearts and healing balm to exposed wounds.
I've been writing, playing piano and performing music since 1993 and I usually perform as a soloist. But sometimes I lead a full band, joined by my husband, Peter (bass) my son, Gideon (drums) and guitarist- Jason. In 2020 while the world was on lockdown, I began learning how to produce my own music and went to work on an album which released in April of 2023. “Remind Me To Not Be Afraid’ is an eight track EP that I began writing and producing with my brother and co-producer Erik (Like Tribes) after the sudden death of our dad in 2019. Unapologetically weighty, when my world was falling apart, these songs were my armor.
